Look What the Wind Blew In

Hi friends!

Florida’s winter wind blew in our newest blonde! Meet Lauren, a 19 year old beauty adding a new dimension to This Blonde’s Shopping Bag. Yes, I am old enough to be Lauren’s mother, in fact, I’ve known her practically her whole life. That’s where the fun comes in, right? Women in their 40’s and beyond want to be stylish and fashionable without looking like we’re trying to dress like our teenage daughters. What better way to showcase how we can wear the same trends than to shed some light on a younger perspective and be photographed side by side! We chose to dress for cold weather on the one day Florida actually had some cold weather! We are calling it our one day of winter, where our high is 53,no worries, next week it will be back in the 80’s. Enjoy the photos and meet me below for the details on how you can shop for what we’re wearing.

Here are some links for pieces similar to what I am wearing. Most of my pieces are old so I linked similar items. I was so excited to see that my over the knee boots are on MAJOR sale at Target! Because our winter has been so mild I haven’t worn them much but I love them and they are surprisingly comfortable!

I think adding a fresh, new perspective will be fun, don’t you? I am hoping we can eventually get all three blondes photographed together to give you the best experience when it comes to imagining yourself in the latest trends regardless of age or size. It doesn’t get too cold to often here in sunny Florida so dressing for cold weather was fun . Lauren and I joked that we both planned to wear approximately 4 different outfits today just so we could wear our favorite winter clothes. That’s the way it has to be around here or you might miss your chance, it will be in the mid to high 70’s by Wednesday.

Next weekend I am planning to do a major closet purge. I cannot wait! I’ve been reading lots of articles on how to determine what’s worth keeping and more importantly how to part with pieces. Don’t worry I’ll be sure to document the whole process, it will be Epic!

So wearing fun hats and cold weather clothes was on the menu for today and that’s what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today! What are you wearing this week? I’d love to know! Today we are linking up with Patti for Visible Monday, check it out here!

Fashionably yours,

Kellyann

  1. Hi! Any chance you can post pics of your purged items? Maybe we could do some swapping. : )

I hope to send in some pics of my new “grown up” outfits. I’m in my last semester of my MSN and have my internship this semester. I’m going to be teaching college nursing classes and needed a few items to “grow up” my usual school nurse wardrobe. Rue 21 had some major sales–got boot socks and scarves for only $3 each!

    1. Lisa I am so excited for you! I’ll message you when I have my clothes ready to go and you can have first dibs! It will give us a chance to catch up!

  2. OK, are you sure you’re not her twin sister? You could easily pass for sisters and not mother and daughter. You are just gorgeous and always so stylish. You’re both adorable and I love the outfits you chose, specially with the hats! The color combination of your button down and long duster is so fun. You’re both dolls!

    1. You are too sweet Andrea and all I can say is that these photos must be awesome if I look like I could be her sister, lol! Trust me, in real life no one would think that! Lauren is a great girl and I think it’s gonna be so much fun to do posts together. She’s like the daughter I never had. As always I thank you for your kindness and support! xoxoxo Kellyann
