Leopard with a Side of Plaid

This leopard sweater of mine is a few years old but since I don’t really get to wear a sweater more than twice a season they tend to last awhile. Something I don’t get to break out too often is my pom pom hat. I just had to have this hat last year and then once I got it I realized I probably wouldn’t get to wear it too often. My hair doesn’t bounce back after wearing a hat and unless I’m spending a full cold day outside it just doesn’t get worn much. Truth be told I’m not too sure it works on me but it is kind of fun!

Since leopard is a neutral I decided to pair mine this time with a classic flannel(plus size option). I like these two together! Not boring at all and a little color never hurt anyone, especially on a cold, dreary day. We don’t get too many of those in sunny Orlando.
I took my leopard a step further with my new necklace from Accessory Concierge. This was a Christmas present that I’ll wear over and over again!
I wore my black skinnies(plus size option). Since it was so cold I added a vest for extra warmth. No surprise I’m wearing my Tom’s Deia booties in black because they are so comfortable!

Dressing for cold weather can be fun because of all the layering opportunities. I love a good pattern mix and refuse to wear a boring old sweater because it’s cold. There are way too many fun options from accessories to sweaters to outerwear to dress frumpy in the cold! Tell me, how do you add interest to your cold weather outfits?

XO,
Kellyann

Kellyann, I like this look! And you look adorable in the beanie. I’m glad you took advantage of the cold. The leopard seater and necklace are so fun and trendy; especially when you get creative and pair them with the cute plaid. I’m with you on vests. Vests are my winter go to because I get chilly even while hanging in my house. Also, most days if I layer properly I don’t need a jacket for running errands if I have my vest on!

You’re so sweet Chrissy! I think vests are perfect for those of us in the mild temperature zones. I don’t know what it’s like in GA but here in FL it can be super cold outside but if I’m driving in my car and the sun is beating down I end up sweating. Vests are such a better option. I am really enjoying this cold snap though and actually haven’t left the house since Tuesday!!!

Love the outfit! I am styling a similar leopard sweater in my most recent blog post! It is my favorite. I got mine at Target. I read you got yours a few years ago, where did you get it?

You had me at leopard and plaid. I love the pattern mixing and yes! You can totally pull off the beanie. I’d like to wear one too, but just like you we don’t have the weather to support a beanie. Your new necklace is fab. I managed to restrain myself from ordering during the New Year’s sale. #miracle Enjoy your cool weather sweet friend! XOXO

I got this beanie from Target last year because it was inexpensive and I all the ones I had seen online were so pricey. It’s been great these last two days with this frigid weather we are having – crazy!!! I was wearing last night when my husband came home from work and he got a good laugh – but seriously if your head is warm the rest of you feels a little warmer too. And I haven’t had to fix my hair, so there’s that!!
I’ll tell ya what I am a little disappointed in this necklace. I love it for sure but the stone is supposed to be agate and mine looks like a plastic rock! There is absolutely no variation in it like you’d see in agate. I was going to send it back but I’d have to pay return postage so I decided I could live with it, especially since it was 40% off but if you look at it online it looks very different. Oh well, I will still wear it a ton but ya know, oh well.
      Happy Thursday my sweet friend!!!

I’ve been wanting to get a beanie, especially with a pom pom on the back. I’ve been seeing those CC ones everywhere. I love that leopard sweater and I don’t have anything like it in my closet (except a gray leopard button cardi). It looks lovely with the pop of color from the flannel and the two patterns work great together!

Thanks Carrie! I should have at least tried to link a beanie like mine, duh! I got mine at Target last year and it was inexpensive. Speaking of Target, online they have a super cute leopard sweater that a reader pointed out – it’s similar to mine and on clearance for under $13! Such a great price for a cute sweater.

I love the mixing of leopard with plaid – and you look is so cute. Living where it is COLD – it is sweaters and layers every day – so the sweaters don’t last as long – or I get really tired of them.

Ugh, well, see I get tired of mine too because they last so dang long and feel guilty buying new ones because I hardly wear them! Oh the style frustrations we must endure, lol! Thanks so much Lisa!
