Graphic Weekend

Since I’ve increased my graphic tee wardrobe by one I’ve been looking for ways to incorporate this fun trend into my every day style! Lucky for me I follow a slew of fabulous bloggers who inspire me each and every day. Just last week Shelbee on the Edge styled a graphic tee with a kimono here. I hope you’ll check her out, her style is so fabulous and she writes about real issues for real women, I promise she does not disappoint!

Fresh off the heels of her post, on Saturday I wore one of my many kimonos with my new graphic tee. While I was just running some errands (namely return at Loft) I love to dress in a fun and stylish way. This outfit hit all the high marks for me!

My kimono is from Marshall’s, my jeans are Old Navy Super Skinny Rockstar in mid rise. I can’t say enough good things about these jeans. I think they are every bit as good as designer denim for a fraction of the cost! My Tom’s booties were comfortable enough to wear all day.

On Sunday we decided to head out to a movie before stopping at the grocery store. Once again I found myself reaching for a graphic tee. You can snag this one or this one for under $8! This time I decided to wear my graphic tee with my new camo pants I picked up while making my return on Saturday. I added a cropped blazer (similar, similar, plus size option). I wore my Tom’s open toe booties and my favorite Kendra Scott necklace .

Back to back days with graphic tees made for fun weekend wear! Do you own a graphic tee? What’s your favorite way to wear one? I’d love to know!

Well Maria, I am turning 50 this year and I am just now starting to wear them more! I used to think I was too old and now I’m just enjoying them. There are so many good ones out there now too, that may have been a problem for me in the past. Some of the messages weren’t ones I could really pull off but now there are lots of great ones!

I need to make some returns too. It looks like I will be stopping in LOFT and checking out those camo pants! I was thinking about getting a pair! They look so good with a graphic tee!

Oh yes Laura, check out the camo pants. I like the colors because there isn’t a ton of contrast, it’s kind of subtle so from a distance they almost look olive. I think it makes them easier to pair up with other prints. Hope you’re having a wonderful Wednesday!

Love the floral kimono with the graphic tee!
Will the kimono keep you warm in the evenings in Orlando?
I will be visiting Orlando for 1 day after condo shopping in St. Augustine’s and wondering how the cool
    the evenings become?
    Thanks,
    Debora

Hi Deborah! Glad you’re visiting Orlando soon, our weather is wonderful! It is also tempermental. Most of the time a light sweater or jacket is all you need because most days we have high 70’s in the day and 60’s at night. Sometimes a cold front blows through, like today, our high is only in the 60’s and this evening we’ll be in the 40’s. How’s that for an answer as clear as mud?! I did wear that kimono on Saturday and I was comfortable all day and night. You just never know for sure. My advice is to pack layers including a scarf so you’ll be covered. Many tourists think it’s warm enough to swim right now while those of us who live here are lighting fires in our fireplaces, ha!

      p.s. we LOVE St. Augustine!

Now I know what you wore for Liam Neeson! I love how you teamed the t with that jacket, those cinemas can be chilly. I have just the one graphic and that’s by default, it’s my volunteer t for our island’s literary festival. I made graphic t shirts in 1964 with electrical tape, maybe that’s not something I want to relive! Hugs, x.

Yes ma’am, I love me some Liam Neeson! Now if you’re really like my husband you STILL have those graphic tees you made back in the day. And guess what? You could probably pull them out and wear them again because they’re in, in fact they’re vintage now so you could pop ’em on ebay and make a bundle! Quick, go check! Did you find them? Old Mr. R has concert tees still hanging in his closet from the early 80’s and he STILL owns and fits in the sports coat he wore when we dated 26 years ago!
Thanks my friend – big hugs!!!

Thanks Carrie! I have always loved pink and I wish I had more of it in my house, ha! As my boys grow up and move out I may start incorporating it into my home decor. It just makes me smile!

I happened to be in Target for a return today and I found that Rose graphic tee! I was excited, because I kind of wanted to try it on in the store to see how it fit. I can’t wait to style it. I just pinned this kimono outfit with it, so I don’t forget to try this look out! I also love that blazer + graphic tee + camo pants look!! So clever!

How cute! I’m such a graphic tee fan. I used wear library related ones when I worked late on Thursday evenings, but we’ve gone to a more conservative dress style, so no more tees. They were so fun because the students would try to figure out what book or author my tees were referencing. On a styling note, I love graphic tees with leather skirts. I don’t know why, but it just looks edgy to me.

Man, that stinks that your dress code changed! I think they should make an exception for you because yours benefitted student learning! I mean, hey, you were engaging their minds! I don’t own a leather skirt but you’re right, that would be a perfect pairing and certainly edgy!
      Have a wonderful weekend Daenel!
