Friday Favorites – Love is All You Need Edition

With all the negativity in our world right now this seems like the perfect time to spread the love! Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said it best when he stated that only light can drive out darkness, no truer words have been said in my opinion. All the ugliness never makes things better, does it?

So, here’s the thing – Valentine’s Day is now less than a month away so it is the perfect time to sport all the red, pink, hearts, and love items. I certainly don’t go over the top with decor but I do enjoy looking at things that bring a smile to my face, how about you?

I know some people say, why bother, Valentine’s Day is just a Hallmark holiday, right? Yes, like many others it is but isn’t it refreshing to focus on love for a little while? Valentine’s Day is all about all things happy. I’m not talking about grand gestures, expensive gifts, or fine dining. Just a few sweet things to giggle about that don’t cost a lot – and you need it now. We’ve been in our houses for months now so what’s the crime in a little V-Day decor?

Favorite #1 Cute house decor

I’m a sucker for a wooden bead. Bonus if it’s holiday specific! When I spotted these pretty beads and the wood block (what is it called anyway?) at TJ Maxx over Christmas and couldn’t grab them fast enough. I’ve linked some cute garland for you too.

Why not put it out on a coffee table, drape it over a frame, or hang on a fireplace mantel. While you’re at it, why not add a few comfy pillows?

Favorite #2 Valentine’s T-shirt

Valentine's T-shirt + Grey Jeans

I bought my t-shirt last year and still love it! Grab one now and wear it weekly. I bet you’ll smile when you put it on and who knows – someone else might smile too (you can tell by looking at their eyes btw).

I love my grey velvet jeans and can’t believe that I almost didn’t get them. Silly me, I thought I’d never wear them. But you know what? They are soft, hold their shape, and the color is so versatile. Right now they’re on super sale too! I also love my snake print booties. They add a little fun!

Favorite #3 Love Sweater

This might just be season 3 for this Loft sweater. I do tend to wear it mostly around Valentine’s. It may not be available but many others are! I always layer it and this time the pretty colors in this gingham shirt made this such a happy outfit. I wore it to meet a friend for coffee yesterday!

Favorite #4 Cute Pj’s

Most of us are probably staying in so why not treat yourself to a cute pair of pjs? I found these at Loft and think they are the perfect accompaniment to a night of Netflix!

I own one pair of Valentine’s pjs that are sooooooo old! I was in a bunco group and we made our February theme a Valentine’s PJ Party! It was a lot of fun but I was a nervous wreck driving to my friend’s house in my jammies. All I could think of was what if I got in an accident and was standing on the side of the road like this???

Favorite #5 Love your 1st cup!

Do you look forward to that first cup of coffee each day like I do? Do you enjoy it in a fun cup on occasion? A pretty little mug might be just the thing to make that cup a bit sweeter, don’t you think?

Other things I love? My new master bathroom and bedroom! I promise to do a post on the whole thing with before and after photos eventually. In the meantime feel free to visit me on Instagram, I recorded a story and saved to my “Home Stuff” highlights so you can watch it anytime!

We are leaving on Saturday morning to drive our son to Nashville (Brentwood). I have all the emotions as you’d expect. I hope to share our trip on Instagram so you can follow me there if you’d like to come along. Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
