Fabulous Friday Link Up!

Fridays always tend to be fabulous, right? Well this Friday is particularly fabulous for me because I get the honor of co-hosting the Fabulous Friday with Jennie from A Pocketful of Polka Dots.  I hope you’ll link up, just go to the bottom and add your links!

For my Fabulous Friday outfit I chose a kimono and white denim ensemble.  Summertime is hot and humid and thank goodness for air conditioning!  So while I love wearing a cool cami I find it necessary to wear a light layer for when I’m indoors.  Enter the kimono – one of my absolute favorite pieces!  I have several and I am always on the hunt for another.  Not only is a kimono functional but it adds visual interest as well.  There are so many gorgeous kimonos on the market in every price range.  The one I am wearing is from the clearance section at Target.  I paid a whopping $8 for this beauty which I’m sure will be worn dozens of times bringing it’s cost per wear to mere pennies.  I kept the rest of the outfit simple with my favorite camisole (similar), white jeans (similar), a tassel necklace, and my espadrille wedges from Gap. I love this outfit!

A couple of things about this outfit worth noting. First of all it is my jam, and I mean it. Give me an easy, non-clingy camisole and a kimono and I am one happy girl. I love the boho vibe and just how comfortable this whole ensemble is, right down to my shoes. Secondly, you probably noticed the white in the camisole is more creamy than true white yet my jeans are true white, so what? It’s all good, don’t sweat the small stuff. The jeans are old and I ALWAYS cuff them, since raw hem is so big right now I decided to DIY mine and they turned out pretty good. I may cut just a bit more off. Our weather has been so bad I was just so thrilled to get out and snap these pictures. The sky was getting dark as my son was snapping away.

If you’re unsure about a kimono don’t be. They are so versatile and fun! I can’t wait to wear this one with shorts and even a maxi dress! Now there’s an idea for a future post, won’t you kimono on over and see all the different ways to style one? LOL

That’s what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today, what’s in yours?

I’m so happy I manage to get a pair of the tan espadrilles you wear,I live in Scotland and tried every gap store and couldn’t find them,I am in California on vacation and drove to Vegas for a few days and stopped at the gap outlet store on the state line and found the sandals 50% off so pleased I got them for 19.95,I love your blog and always get excited when I open my emails and you have a new blog posted….x

  2. Yes! You look fabulous. The colors are great, shoes are fun and the accessories superb. This is my favorite type of outfit as well. It’s as if I my “what I’m wearing” compartment of my brain completely relaxes; no bra strap checks, waistline checks, etc. 😉

    1. Thanks Shelbee I can’t hardly believe my good luck in finding this gem on the clearance rack at Target!

  3. First, thank you so much for joining me as co-host this week, Kellyann! It was a pleasure to work with you this week – we will have to do it again in the future. 🙂

Next, this kimono is gorgeous! I Love the color and how beautiful it stands out against your white base. Your cognac sandals and tassel necklace complete this look wonderfully.

    1. Thanks Jennie, I enjoyed working with you as well! I hope you had a wonderful weekend shooting that wedding!!!! You are quite the photographer. I saved your post on taking your own photos as that’s something I hope to master soon. Waiting on someone to snap pictures is such a drag.
I look forward to working with you again!

    1. Lisa, I am so happy I cut my jeans. I kept cuffing them and then I was like what the heck, I may as well just do it. Honestly it’s so hot and humid I probably won’t wear them too much so I didn’t really want to invest in a new pair. Yes, $8 for the kimono, can you believe it? Don’t know if you’ve ordered from SheIn before but they have some cute ones at great prices. I bet Katie would like shopping SheIn too!
