Christmas Brunch

A tradition in our family is our annual Christmas brunch. It’s held at our adopted uncle’s home. Our Uncle Richard has lived down the street from my parents for 40 years and has been a special part of our lives. This is something we look forward to every year. The food is always delicious and his home is decorated so beautifully. He’s also the uncle that gifts our children 12-13 ornaments a piece each year and what the majority of our tree is decorated with. I’m sharing what I wore and a little decor from our Christmas Brunch.

As luck would have it our cold snap is over. The weather is heating up and we are expected to have 80 degree temps several days this week. Sigh. It’s hard to figure out what to wear when the temps go up and down like this but that’s life in Florida. I decided on a black cold shoulder top (similar under $34)and my faux leather leggings. Turned out I was perfectly comfortable!

I have to tell you, brunch was at 9:30 and these pictures were taken around 2pm. I was exhausted! After brunch we went to Target and then grocery shopping. I did absolutely nothing to prepare for these photos – make up had been on since 8. I’m telling you this because my make up held up well despite my oily skin and hot weather. When I applied my make up I tried the “baking” method. I am pleased with the results. Remember when I posted about keeping your make up meltproof here? I still use those same steps but I added the baking process. There are lots of videos on Youtube about it if you’re interested.

I am so glad I purchased these shoes (under $40) because I’ve worn them several times already and they are so good! They are comfortable for my fickle feet and they look great with everything. I highly recommend. If you haven’t yet purchased these faux leather leggings (under $20) you need to change that immediately. Y’all these are fabulous! They run big, I am wearing an XS but they are perfection. Comfortable, breathable and they look good with so much, seriously heels to sneakers! Get them now, thank me later. This necklace is similar to mine. This is the perfect time of year to bring out all the bling! My leopard clutch is sold out – boo! But this one gets rave reviews!

Here are a few pictures of our Uncle Richard’s home.  He is a retired art teacher and I think you’ll be able to tell right away he is very talented and has left no detail unnoticed.
Finally I wanted to share with you these napkin rings that he made using a cut up paper towel roll and ribbon. So creative, right?
I hope you enjoyed the pictures! I also hope you enjoy this last week before Christmas. I can hardly believe it’s in 7 days, are you ready?
Thanks for stopping by friends! Please sign up to follow by email if you haven’t already and take a look at all the places I link up at the top.

Oh wow, the same china, huh? I swear that man has EVERYTHING! I have snowman plates I bought at Walgreen’s years ago. They’re cute and they were inexpensive. We use them daily from November through January and then my husband is begging to change them out, ha!
1 week to go, wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas Laura!

Well didn’t you just look beautiful for brunch! I swear you just can’t go wrong with all black and statement jewelry. So I bought the Spanx faux leather leggings and {I} loved them…Kent and Katie however pretty much said I looked ridiculous so back that went. 😭 Honestly, I totally felt like could pull them off, but they made me doubt myself. I think my mom would have backed me up, bug she wasn’t here. Oh well. The brunch looked lovely and I can’t believe he gives your kids that many ornament EACH year. Their wives are going to be thrilled. Happy Monday sweet friend. I can’t believe we’re in the home stretch. Have a great week!!! XOXO

Girl I KNOW you could pull off the leather leggings! My mistake is that I never ask my husband or boys what they think, i’m sure if I did I’d get unpleasant news, lol. Uncle Richard has no grandchildren so he spoils our kids. They have so many ornaments it’s obscene. Home stretch it is my friend, ready or not here it comes!

What a gorgeous and decked out home he has!! It is so sweet of him to host a Christmas brunch and I can’t believe how many ornaments he has given your kids. Your outfit looks beautiful, love the cold shouldered top with ruffles and those leather leggings. I need to look into this baked on method for makeup!!

Oh my goodness! It would be fun to spend the day at Uncle Richard’s, just to take it all in – so beautiful!! Ok, I think I need to return the coated jeans from WHBM I got for Christmas and get these faux leather leggings. whY? Well, I can’t seem to button them now and your statements about fabulous, comfortable etc got me thinking. You look fabulous in them! Happiest of moments this holiday season Kellyann. 🙂

Uncle Richards is definitely a feast for the eyes. He spends months putting it all together and it’s worth it. He actually hosts lots of gatherings this time of year which is so nice for all of his friends.
Oh girl, I feel ya. I always try to drop a few pounds heading into the holidays but in no time I start packing on the pounds, ugh! I honestly try not to wear too many leggings because then the weight creeps up on me and stays, lol! You are always beautiful Chrissy no matter what! Wishing you all the best my friend!

Thank you for this Master Class in Wowzers! You look gobsmackingly a.maz.ing!
Every element of the outfit is pure glam. You did Uncle Richard proud, racy lady. And then you went shopping and wowed the aisles of Target. You are one edgy shopper.
And after all that, only then did you take photos, hours later without sign of dishevelled hair or melted make-up. Pure Master Class

Thanks for sharing your style and your traditions with us, and Uncle Richard’s enthusiasm for Christmas. Intrigued to know what he served up for brunch at his festive-filled house …

Yeah, I may have been a little overdressed for Target and the grocery but it wouldn’t be the first time, lol! You know me, gotta be racy, right?
For brunch we all make a dish and he provides not only his beautiful home but biscuits and gravy, and beverages. Sadly none are alcoholic, hahaha! It’s always yummy with loads of bacon, ham, potato casserole, chicken and waffles casserole, fresh fruit, Christmas cookies, and of course my Panettone bread pudding which is to die for delicious. I need to get better of snapping pics of my food like you my friend.
Shortly after the pictures were taken I changed into comfy lounge pants and a tee shirt and took a nap on the couch – ha – see it’s not all glam over here!
      Hugs my sweet friend!

We celebrate Christmas brunch each year too; but it’s snowing and sleeting today so we’re in turtlenecks and sweaters. LOL. His home is so beautifully decorated. I love the ribbons and greenery on his chandelier; I’ve go to try something like that next year!

Thanks! I love decorating our chandelier but this year I took a break from it – too much going on with our kitchen reno. Just wasn’t on my A-game but next year I am on it! Brunch is one of my favorite meals. You are lucky to be in the snow, we are burning up here and it really stinks! Merry Christmas!!!
