Blue Bell

How in the world is it only Wednesday?  I feel as though I’ve lived a year this week and we’re only on day 3!  I’ll tell ya what, adjusting to my work schedule has been a challenge, I’m not sleeping well at night because I have a million thoughts running rampant.   On top of that I was afraid I was getting sick but thankfully I’m feeling better!

This blue bell sleeve top (similar)came home with me in June when I went birthday shopping at Nordstrom.  Honestly I haven’t worn it much this Summer but I knew it would be perfect for work. I was attracted to it because navy is one of those colors that works in any season and I adored the sleeves. The fact that it is almost like an eyelet fabric means I won’t overheat either! The good news is that the few times I’ve worn it I have not had to wear a cami underneath just a dark bra.

While there are so many pieces this top will pair well with in my wardrobe I have returning to work on my mind so I chose a blue floral skirt. This skirt is super old from Target (like 3 years?) but I love it. You know what else I love? You guessed it, my new shoes! Ya’ll these are so comfortable! I wore them from 7am until 8:00pm on my first day back to work and not once did I have the urge to kick them off. They are worth every penny.

My necklace is old too but the color was a perfect match to the skirt. Having a great pencil skirt in a fun print gives you lots of styling options, it can be dressed up or down.

Mixing old pieces, like my skirt and necklace, with new pieces like my blouse and shoes is like clicking the refresh button my computer. Suddenly I have a whole new look. Taking a piece with a classic cut like my pencil skirt and adding the on-trend blue bell sleeve blouse updated my look. See, you don’t have to spend a fortune to be stylish. I have come to realize it is necessary to invest in comfortable, well fitting shoes but it’s not necessary to spend a fortune on clothes. Since my pieces are old, I am linking similar items for your shopping pleasure!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate each and every one of you sweet readers and I love reading and answering your comments. Have a marvelous Wednesday and shop on!

Xo,
Kellyann

Thanks pretty lady! The first week back is always a tough one, we’re excited and exhausted at the same time. I am looking forward to the weekend like nobody’s business! But then next weekend we say goodbye to Nolan and I am definitely NOT looking forward to that. I know you’re in the same boat. We’ll have to send each other virtual hugs! I’ll take all I can get!

Awww thanks Deena! I am finally embracing wearing the glasses all the time for these old eyes of mine, what an adjustment! I am positively taken by the floral print on this skirt and the blues are my favorite. Thanks to TBB I am feeling like a bit of a celebrity today, lol! You ladies are so sweet!

Kellyann, This is just the perfect outfit! I love how you mixed old and new. I want to be better at that. Somehow I feel like I constantly need to be wearing new things which is also causing my husbands eyes to nearly roll right on out of his head. I love the eyelet detail of that top. It’s gorgeous and I’m going to check those sandals out the next time I’m in our friend Nordy’s. Cute and comfy are two words I can get behind. The weekend will be here soon my sweet friend and you can catch your breath! XOXO

Thanks Lisa. I know what you mean about feeling like you have to wear something new on the blog all the time, I feel the same way but it’s alot of fun to remix old pieces. My husband sounds exactly like yours!!! You definitely need to check out these shoes, they have some other styles I have my eye on as well but these are just super comfy. I am so looking forward to the weekend sweet friend, so looking forward to it!

Hope you are feeling better, you certainly look fresh and well. I am huddled up with a summer cold generously passed on by hubby ?.
I do love this outfit and it reminds me that I need to be more adventurous with tops. And maybe footwear too, still loving your sandals but surely there is a danger of toppling over?! But I like the idea of my short legs being stretched. What a dilemma!

Hmmmmm that hubby of yours passing on a cold, not nice at all! LOL. I am really enjoying all the fun top styles, bell sleeves seem to work well on everyone. It’s funny that as high as these heels are I feel very steady and haven’t twisted an ankle or felt like I was going to fall, I may be singing a different tune next week when the kids are actually back to school and practically knocking me over with hugs! Fingers crossed I make it out relatively unscathed!

LOVE this outfit on you! I like the bell sleeves when they’re 3/4 length – otherwise they get in my way :)! Hope you get some rest this weekend!

Lana you are RIGHT about long bell sleeves, what a mess! I’m the clumsiest person so I’d be dragging them through everything!!!! Yuck. This top is really perfect for my warm climate, I can wear it into winter too with a cami underneath because it’s so warm here. Thanks for the sweet words my west coast friend – I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
