Cutest Dress

Happy Monday friends!

I am glad you are here today. I’ll tell you what, I fell in love with reading blogs because I craved fashion that would look as good on me as it did in the pictures I saw. For years I was an avid magazine reader and got my fashion fix that way. But finding the clothes featured in magazines was a chore and often not in my budget. And then of course there’s the whole fit issue. With the majority of models standing about 5’9″ or so and weighing much less than me, the chances of finding clothing that would look as good on me as it did on them were slim to none. While perusing Pinterest I found my first blog and I was hooked. Bloggers continue to influence my purchases and I hope I can do that for you, my readers. I think it makes all the difference in the world to see clothing on real people who are not airbrushed and photo shopped. And I’ll be honest with you I do not edit my pictures to make myself appear smaller, problem-area free, or blemish free. I do edit to brighten and crop my photos.

So with that background in mind, enter the cutest dress post! One of my favorite bloggers is Andrea Nine, she blogs over at Living on Cloud Nine. So often when I read her blog I find myself thinking, “I have something just like that” or “That is so me” and on, and on. When I showed my husband her blog he was like, “She looks just like you” and I’ll admit we are similar in appearance. I can be her older sister! She also shares terrific recipes that I make for my family and they LOVE. When she did a post about this dress I knew I had to have it!

Once it arrived I was smitten. I love the Boho vibe and the fact that it’s lightweight enough for me to wear year round here in Florida. While Andrea styled hers with boots, the first time I wore mine I wore sandals. Here’s a look at how I styled the cutest dress:

I love the bell sleeves on this baby!  It may be hard to tell from the photos but the front of the dress has a bit of a lace up detail.  What looks like to brown spots in the pictures is actually the bead detail at the bottom of the ties. Similar styles can be found hereand here Plus size styles can be found here and here.
Great sandal options can be found here and here.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and that you checked out my girl Andrea too!  And allow me to share just one more thing; I have had my eyes opened recently to what it really means to matter to someone.  The world of blogging can be very lonely especially when you’re just starting out.  Afterall I really have no idea if anyone really reads or enjoys my blog unless they comment.  The first time Andrea commented I almost died! An actual, successful blogger took the time to comment on my blog???? It was a pinch me moment. And guess what? She comments regularly and her comments are always so sweet and encouraging. And I really need that. So thank you to all who read and comment, it means the world to me!

The cutest Boho dress is what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today, I hope you’ll add one to yours!

Do Yourself a Favor

Hi friends!

I am serious about this, you will thank me.  You will be glad you listened. You will be thrilled with your purchase.  You need to order this Junior Women’s Bp. Scoop Neck Long Sleeve Tee • BP • $10.80 now. Not only is the price fantastic but it’s the perfect transition piece. You’ll reach for it over and over again. I bought it in white but I’ve ordered a few more in other colors because I fell in love.

Here’s the deal. This top is a wardrobe staple, you’ll wear it with everything from shorts to skirts to jeans to leggings!  It fits more like a tunic, it’s slightly longer in the back and even though it’s lightweight it’s not sheer. It layers perfectly. I ordered it in a medium and I adore the fit.

The first time I wore it was to meet friends for drinks. It was rainy and chilly so I wore it with my faux leather leggings, boots, and a long cardigan found here and of course my favorite necklace. Take a look:

The next day I wore it again (shhhh, don’t tell!) to an all day training on Crisis Prevention Intervention. I was required to wear comfortable clothes as well as close-toed shoes. The rain was still hanging around so I went super comfy. Take look at it by itself and keep in mind I was going to a training and that’s why I am wearing it without any accessories. It would be fantastic with a scarf!!

In this picture you can see how long it is.

Such a super versatile piece and with free shipping (and free returns) you can’t go wrong. Click hereand place your order!

That’s what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today!

Wednesday Wants

Hello Wednesday!

For most of us it feels like Tuesday since Monday was a holiday but I am happy to tell you it is in fact Hump Day and we are closer to Friday – cheers! I thought I’d share a few tops I’ve been eyeing. And P.S. if you are reading this post through your email click on the title so you can see the post in its entirety and get the full effect.

As you can see my love of off the shoulder continues. Although I’ll admit I haven’t always been a fan. The first few I bought never seemed to stay in place and I couldn’t comfortably move my arms, I think improvements have been made. I recommend that top from Soprano – a great price point and blush is beautiful and screams spring. Pair it with white, denim, florals – you name it!

Ruffles are going to be big this spring so snag yourself a cute tee with a ruffle for instant style. If you are a jeans and tee kinda girl why not make it the cutest tee possible? If ruffles aren’t your thing check out the criss cross design. I am trying to figure out which color I want but I definitely see one in my future.

So happy shopping friends! Cute tops that are spring ready – that’s what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today!

Fashionably yours,

Blue Monday

Happy Monday!

Don’t let the title fool you, I am definitely NOT feeling blue on this fine Monday. Just the opposite in fact since it’s President’s Day and I have the day off. Cheers for long weekends!

The outfit I am sharing was worn over the weekend. I attended a baby shower and then went out for Thai with my husband. I love it when one outfit does double duty!

Everything I am wearing is old with the exception of my new handbag, check out that post here. This blue jacket was rediscovered when I cleaned out my closet. Remember that? You can check out that post here. I bought it years ago at Macy’s and wore it probably once before it got lost in the chaos of my former closet. I think this is a great example of why just simply ridding your closet of clothing you haven’t worn in the last year may not be the best idea. Actually trying each piece on and then deciding its fate is a better way to go, in my opinion. My jeans and top are from Loft, both purchased last fall. My shoes are from Nordstrom last spring, they are cork and go with everything!

I had my husband take a close up of the necklace, I just checked and it is out of stock but this is similar. My necklace is from the same brand, BP and it was on sale for under $12.00. I love it for it’s simplicity. Since my jacket has so much going on with the large, gold buttons I opted for a simple necklace.

I should add that my husband took these pictures right before we left for dinner so I had been in this outfit for about 7 hours at this point and it still looks fresh! The jacket has some stretch in it which really helps it keep its shape and wrinkle free. If you take advantage of any of the President’s Day sales look for lightweight jackets with spandex, mine has 3% spandex and I think it makes all the difference.

Rediscovering favorites is what my outfit is all about. That’s what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today!

I am linking up with Patti for Visible Monday. I hope you’ll check out all of the great bloggers who’ve linked up as well. There’s so much talent out there!

Goldilocks and the Three Bags

Happy Friday friends!

If you’re like me you are pinching yourself right now and thinking, “Wow! Kellyann really meant what she said a few weeks ago about taking the blog thing seriously. This is the 3rd post this week!” Yes it is and yes I am. The truth of the matter is that I enjoy writing and this is fun , I am glad you’re here!

I’m sure I’m not the only one who likes a new handbag each season. Spring 2017 calls for structured bags in spring like colors. They are everywhere and available at every price point. Today I am sharing 3 bags from a brand you may or may not be familiar with, Sole Society. The bag I bought last summer as part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale was from Sole Society and I loved it (still do).

When you’re shopping online it is sometimes hard to tell just how big or small something is even though dimensions are often provided. I am the type of person that needs to see a handbag up close and personal so I can get a feel for it. So of course I ordered from Nordstrom because of their awesome customer service, free shipping and free returns. I had my eye on 3 bags but only two were available at Nordstrom. If there was a Nordstrom store near me I’d shop in person but that’s not the case.

Take a look at the three bags I chose.

The first bag, Gina is definitely a terrific bag. I ordered it in camel. It is roomy and has a detachable shoulder strap. When I took it out of the box my husband was like, “Whoa, now that’s a big bag!” Yes, yes it is.

Onto the second bag. The Athenia is gorgeous and the ivory color is perfect for spring. It’s a dupe for a much more expensive bag. It is much smaller than the Gina. It also has a detachable strap.

The third bag I had my eye on was not available at Nordstrom so I purchased it directly from Sole Society. They have lots of great bags and shoes along with accessories and clothing. The Dayton in blush had me swooning though. This bag is the perfect size for me and I love the detailing. For me it was just right; not too big and not too small.

In the end I decided to keep the Dayton. I look forward to using it and the color is perfection in my opinion. Over the years I’ve become a little more specific in handbag requirements. When I was younger it was all about what the bag looked like but now I’m interested in how it feels on my shoulder, how easy it is to get into, how all my stuff fits inside, and finally it has to have two straps andit can’t be too heavy. Of course it has to look good too! The Boho side of me loves soft, slouchy bags but when I’m out shopping I get frustrated searching my bag for my keys, etc..

I hope you enjoyed the story of the three handbags. Are you looking for a new bag for spring? What are your requirements? A brand new handbag is what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today, what’s in yours?

Fashionably yours,

Black and White

Happy Wednesday friends!

I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day.  I know some see it as a Hallmark holiday but in all honesty it’s a sweet holiday and a nice excuse to show someone you care.  I’m hoping you all feel loved!  Quite simply I enjoy Valentine’s Day because it’s a fun excuse to decorate and make sweet treats.  It sort of helps to get over the after Christmas let down in my opinion.  And when you work in an elementary school like I do you hear a million times “Happy Valentime’s Day” and it’s so cute it never gets old!

Over the weekend my husband and I went to see La La Land and then had dinner.  I suppose you could call it our private Valentine’s celebration since we were sans kids.  Not only did I love the movie but I loved our dinner out – the weather was perfect for dining outside.  Take a look at what I wore!

This outfit is a combination of old and new.  My top arrived just a few days ago, it’s another great find fromSheIn. Here is my exact top.  I am wearing a medium in it and I’ll tell you what, this is a great top.  It’s a nice thick cotton and feels way more expensive than it’s $13.00 price tag!  Here’s a similar top and I love this one too!

My white denim is old – last year actually, from Old Navy. Once again I am impressed with the quality of this denim. Shopping for white denim is difficult; sometimes the pockets show through or every lump and bump is on display. Not so with this pair! The pockets are actually lined with a nude colored fabric and the denim has enough stretch to hold you in and conceal everything. I’ve seen white denim with a hefty price tag but this pair could stand up to any of those! Mine are from the Rockstar line. I believe this is my exact pair. The mid-rise is super comfortable and they held their shape all night. I couldn’t have been happier!

I wore a comfortable pair of neutral shoes. I love wearing a nude heel with white pants. The nude really elongates the leg and I don’t know anyone who isn’t interested in that! My shoes are by Steve Madden and again they are old but here’s a similar pair.

To add a little interest I chose my favorite clutch from Accessory Concierge. This pom pom clutch is just the best! I love the colors and the pom poms are just too cute.

My earrings are old too, from last summer but these are similar just in red.

I hope you enjoyed this version of black and white and it inspires you. That’s what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today, are you ready to add something black and white in yours?

Those Sleeves!

Hi friends!

Let’s get right to it, shall we? This sweater. So. Good. I swore I wasn’t buying any sweaters this year because it’s been so hot but this one was just too good to pass up. Unlike anything I have in my closet these sleeves are just so fun and on trend. The color is also one of my faves and at well below $30 I had to take the plunge. I am so glad I did! I have mentioned SheIn before and I am happy to mention it again. It’s a great online shopping resource, great prices for on-trend styles.  Check out this similar sweater it’s $25 and comes in 3 colors! This one in olive is such a steal at less than $20! I love that SheIn offers free shipping and returns. I’ve ordered from them several times and I have had great experiences. I have had to make a return and it was easy. As always I recommend you read the details on the items you’re thinking of purchasing carefully. In this instance these sweaters are one size fits all. This made me a little nervous but I decided to go for it.

I am short waisted and I like the length of this sweater. I am also thrilled that jeans are not quite as low cut as they once were! I am wearing jeans from Loft.Mine are a few months old but these are similar. I like the dark wash and these feel more like trousers than jeans. In any case they were super comfortable for a day of in-service training.

My jeans are slightly longer than the jeans I normally wear so I opted for booties with a higher wedge heel. They are comfortable but I bought them a few years ago at TJ Maxx. Here’s a pair that’s very similarWomen’s Toms ‘Desert’ Wedge Bootie • Toms • $69.90 .
I kept my jewelry very simple because these sleeves were doing all the talking, lol! I wore just a simple pair of earrings and my usual watch and bangles.

Wearing something so different was fun! Honestly I felt like I needed to go dancing with those sleeves but opted instead for happy hour at Bar Louie. The outfit held up well from work to a night out it was a winner in my book! And, FYI, I washed the sweater the next day and hung it to dry. It washed like a dream!

I’ll tell you what bell-sleeves, tulip sleeves, and ruffled sleeves are on trend and will continue to be right into spring and summer. Have you tried this trend? Are you ready to take the plunge? I say go for it and have some fun! This trend is for everyone it’s up to you how you wear it. That’s what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today, what’s in yours?

Old Navy Haul

Happy Wednesday friends!

I am really on a roll this week with blogging, can you believe this is the 3rd post this week? Someone pinch me. I am chuckling to myself because there are so many things I need to be doing right now around the house AND on top of that my nail polish is completely off of the nails on one hand but here I am enjoying myself with the blog. #priorities Really nothing screams read my fashion blog like an adult woman with chipped nail polish on one hand and none on the other. Sigh.

But anyhow, I wanted to share a little shopping trip I took on Saturday. I had some Supercash to spend and spend I did! Remember my closet clean out here? Well since I got rid of so many pieces I no longer loved I had room for a few new things and honestly it opened my eyes to a few things I needed. Just for reference I’ll use the term need loosely.

On my wish list was a lightweight black sweater, light wash skinny jeans, and navy blue trousers. I was certainly in luck when I walked into Old Navy and almost immediately found the skinny jeans and black sweater. Of course I found a few other goodies as well.

I think I was most impressed with the Pixie pants I tried on. They are longer length and I LOVE the fabric. They are definitely slim fitting and a good weight, honestly the quality is top notch. Believe it or not this is my first foray into the Pixie pants world! Shop my pants here.

The black sweater is just a nice, lightweight layering piece. Nothing fancy but that’s just what I wanted. Even though our winter has been mild I think I’ll get to wear it a few times before it goes into hibernation until next winter. Shop my sweater here.

Old Nay denim continues to impress me. I found the Super Skinny mid-rise in a light wash for $19.00. Hello, $19.00! And they don’t get baggy! If you haven’t checked out Old Nay denim rectify that. Like today. You’ll thank me! Shop my jeans here.

I am always on the lookout for cute, comfy dresses and when I spotted this one I scooped it up. And the fact that it’s blue and orange is a bonus #gogators as I can wear it on College Spirit Day at school as well as to football games and other events.

On my way out of the fitting room I grabbed two more lovelies. This top and these shoes but mine are gold.. I should mention that my shoes are gold and they were on super sale, like $11.00. They are comfortable to wear to dinner or a dressier event, my feet wouldn’t last in them all day.

Here’s a peek in the dressing room:

I wore my new full length Pixie Pants to work on Tuesday:

Well I certainly hope you enjoyed a look into my Old Navy shopping bag from Saturday. While it may not seem like much of a “haul” I like what I bought. The pants, sweater, and jeans are really wardrobe staples that will get worn over and over again. I suppose I could say the same about the dress, when the heat and humidity pick up it will be something I reach for time and again. I promise to take pictures of the top and shoes when I wear them so you can get a look at those as well.

This is a great time to shop Old Navy, spring styles are hitting the shelves and great deals are yours for the taking! Check out the links I provided below, I found so many great pieces! And my curvy friends I haven’t forgotten about you, Old Navy has some absolutely darling pieces online. Love, love, love! That’s what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today!

Valentine’s Day with Lilly

Hi friends!

Here’s a look for the younger set. Living in Florida we can pretty much guarantee that it won’t be freezing cold on Valentine’s Day. But the look we’re bringing today can be worn through Spring and Summer as well. This romper by Lilly Pulitzer has all the makings of fun and flirty look that is as comfortable as it is cute!

We love the look from the back. The tie belt cinches the waist and is so flattering! Especially if you’re 19 like our lovely Lauren! Lauren’s romper can be found here. Lauren’s shoes can be found here (similar).

The sleeves are so fun! The bell sleeve is definitely here to stay. Looks great and adds a little warmth just in case you get chilly.

Lauren chose sparkly, gold shoes by Steve Madden to take this romper up a notch. But the great thing about Lilly is that by switching out the shoes to a more casual sandal this look can take you anywhere.

Valentine’s Day

Hi friends!
With Valentine’s Day next week I thought it would be fun to dress up.  In preparation for the shoot I scoured Nordstrom’s website to see what might look good on me and at a price point I was comfortable with. Usually Valentine’s Day is pretty casual around here, we make a nice dinner and dessert and enjoy it with our two sons. I expect this year will be very different with our oldest away at school and our younger son preparing for a state robotics competition. He usually pulls pretty late nights leading up to a competition so I’m pretty sure Valentine’s Day isn’t even on his radar. So who knows what we’ll be doing. Truth be told I rate how good a night is according to the time I am able to come home and change into my pjs and wash my face! Seriously if I can be in my pjs with a clean face by 6pm I am one happy girl!

The link for the dress I am wearing, which is now 40% off and under $60!!! My dress! What I love about the dress I chose is the cut. I am not one to go for the body con trend that is very popular right now. This dress is comfortable and I like the flutter sleeves. The dress is versatile enough to be worn casually or dressy. Simply change out the shoes and jewelry. This neckline screams add a statement necklace which is one of my love languages so I’m happy to oblige. I am wearing the necklace my husband is giving me for Valentine’s Day, translation: I totally found it online, bought it, opened it and presented it to him and told him this was my gift. That’s what 23 years of a happy marriage looks like. I don’t expect him to read my mind and know what I want and I know he wants me to be happy so if I see something I get it. Done and done.

Let’s talk about this necklace though because it’s a beauty. I love Baublebar. Their pieces are fun and well made. I had my eye on this type of necklace for awhile and when it popped up on my Instagram and it was on sale I immediately purchased it. If you are new to the statement necklace game this is a great piece to start with because of it’s versatility. It’s actually three necklaces in one, I’ll show you all three ways to wear it. It’s still on sale here! It is under $50 and it is 3 necklaces in one. Get it now. You won’t regret this. This necklace can be worn with a t-shirt and jeans or more formally.
Need a new dress? Check these out. I am especially loving the plus size options, they are super cute and very flattering cuts!
