These are THAT Good!

Happy Monday before Christmas friends!
Yup, here it is the first day of Christmas break and I was up at 5am! Why????? Sure I have things to do but I had really hoped to sleep in. That’s the problem when you’re an early riser. On the bright side I’ll get lots done. So bring it on Monday!

So last week I ordered a pair of faux leather leggings from Nordstrom. That was on Tuesday and on Friday they arrived! How’s that for fast, free shipping? I was so excited that even temperatures in the 80’s couldn’t keep from immediately trying them on. And you know what? I LOVED them and wore them to happy hour at a friend’s house. Here’s the thing, when you live in Florida you have to be prepared for the fact that you may very well be “dressed up” while the person next to you is wearing shorts and flip flops. It’s just the way it is here in the Sunshine State. I am completely okay with that and decided a long time ago that I would dress for me and not worry about what anyone else is wearing. With that being said I was extremely comfortable all night in my new leggings and I cannot wait to wear them again!

Do yourself a favor and order them NOW. They will not disappoint. Comfortable, lightweight, and a great price point make these leggings from BP a total score. I purchased a pair several years back from Kohl’s and promptly returned them. Immediately upon putting them on I started sweating, I swear they were made of 100% latex! Not so with these babies, I was so comfortable that I am already scheming of ways I’ll wear them again.

Order my favorite leaggings here.

I have to give credit to two of my favorite bloggers for inspiring me to pull the proverbial trigger and get the leggings. Check out Andrea at Living on Cloud NIne and Peaches in a Pod to see some beautiful ladies wearing this trend and looking fine!

And while I had hoped to have pictures of myself to go along with this post unfortunately I do not.  Sigh. However, Santa brought me a brand new camera yesterday so very soon you’ll be seeing how I styled my leggings and a whole lot more!

In the meantime, here’s what I wore with my leggings:

Do yourself a favor and order the leggings for yourself, they’d look spectacular for New Year’s Eve! A fab pair of faux leather leggings, that’s what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today!

Party Time Take 2

Seriously, who am I? Posting two days in a row? I am getting caught up in all the excitement of the holidays! Today will be short and sweet…I promise!

So here’s the deal. It is over 80 degrees here in Orlando and that really puts a damper on dressing this time of year. Wanting to look festive without sweltering is a struggle! I have wanted a pair of faux leather leggings for ages now but I have been afraid to do so because I am wondering how much I would actually wear them. But I have decided to go ahead and take the plunge!

I LOVE the idea of faux leather leggings with a gorgeous tunic top (gotta cover the lady bits, ok?), heels if it’s warm or over the knee boots if it’s cold. Here’s what I am thinking:

Don’t let the faux leather leggings fool you, they can be worn with a great pair of sneakers for a more casual look. Take a look at these!

Yes, please!

Okay, let’s talk about a dandy of a dress at a great price. Wear this with booties or OTK boots and you’ll be set.

That dress comes in a slew of colors!

Okay gang, that’s it for today. I hope you find a little inspiration here, I am
ordering a pair of faux leather leggings now, pictures to come!

I ordered these leggings by BP – the reviews were terrific and priced under $30 they were calling my name!

Party Time!

Hi friends!

Holiday season is well under way and by now you’ve probably already made the rounds to a few parties.  Things like “Ugly Christmas Sweater” parties, happy hour, maybe even an ornament exchange or two have no doubt been attended.  But still to come are Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Hannukah, and New Year’s!  There are still so many great opportunities to get dressed up!

It’s funny that holiday wear was on my mind and then lo and behold a dear, sweet reader (Hi Lisa!) asked for some guidance with party clothes!  Yippeee! My first thought: someone’s actually reading the blog, lol!  My second thought: Get.On.It.Now. So now I bring you today’s post!

I have been sick for weeks and have not shot a single outfit.  Seriously two rounds of antibiotics for two different illnesses and I’m still not better. Being sick has certainly put a damper on my holiday plans but I’m leaving all that behind to focus on the fact that this is the last week of school before break and my older son is home from college #gogators.  So let the festivities begin!

The outfit I’ll be wearing for Christmas Eve was purchased online during Loft’s 50% off no minimum for free shipping sale.  My family gets together on both Christmas and Christmas Eve but since I host Christmas Day I usually go for something a little more casual.

So here’s what I’ll be wearing Christmas Eve from Loft, I actually linked two blouses but I purchased the off the shoulder blouse and I love it:

Guess what the best news is? Use code STYLEEVENT to get 40% off your purchase! So that’s my base outfit and now it’s time to add a little bling! Add these accessories to make the outfit pop!

Now any of those necklaces would be FABULOUS with an off the shoulder top. I tried to include a few different options depending on your comfort level. I realize that not everyone loves wearing a statement necklace so for you I’ve included the choker. It’s sleek and simple but makes a statement all it’s own. Another great option is to go for a statement earring and either do a delicate necklace or none at all. Here are a few great statement earrings:

Let’s talk footwear, shall we? I will probably wear my leopard heels because leopard is a neutral and adds just a little something that elevates your outfit, anyone can wear a black heel but why not wear something a little unexpected? In any case here are some shoes to peruse #rhyminglikeagangsta.

I am dying over the cuteness in those shoes! Here’s the thing, it is OKAY to wear a patterned shoe, especially if you are wearing solids elsewhere. Own it!

The right handbag makes a great accessory. It’s time to put away the everyday bag and grab something fun! Take a look!

So there you have it, one look for a holiday party featuring separates that can be mixed and matched with lots of other items you probably already own. Separates speak to me because of their versatility and I love the options they provide. In general I am usually more comfortable in pants.

Now if you’d rather wear a skirt here are a few suggestions.

Try a simple blouse with a statement necklace:

Wow, Loft really blew me away with all of those great blouses! Tie neck blouses don’t require a necklace and they are really having a moment right now. If you haven’t tried one before why not now?
The best tip for dressing for the holidays is to wear something you are comfortable in, that means your clothing fits well and you aren’t fussing with a hem line or neckline and the buttons are not pulling. Also keep in mind that a great look starts with a great foundation. Don’t overlook the importance of a great fitting bra and the right shapewear!

I hope this post inspires you to find and wear a terrific holiday outfit so when photos are taken you are smiling proudly!

Now let’s all say a little prayer that this post gets published without errors!

Holiday wear a little on the casual side is what’s in This Blonde’s Shopping Bag today! Let me know what you think, I’m all ears!
